Houston Wedding Photographers – New Promo Cards!

I wanted to share my new promo cards with you! I liked the design so much that I’ve incorporated it into my website. I’ll be leaving these things all over Houston so don’t be surprised if one ends up in your purse. Special thanks to Carolyn and Josh for being such a beautiful couple!

Googliness?

It’s been over a year since I left my word press blog, and after a lot of consideration I believe that it’s time to move back. While I had more control over some of the features of the newer blog, the WordPress blog received far better Googliness? What is Googliness? Googliness is what happens when your site shows well in Google search & rankings. As a Houston wedding photographer, the images I take show up in the Google image search and ultimately it is where and how many brides find me. My newer blog has been disappointing in this regard. In fact if you Google “Houston Wedding Photographers”, you will find that the only pictures that show up are from the WordPress blog. That is the impetus behind the move back – Googliness.

New Blog!!

This blog has served me well over the last year and a half. The images on it now appear all over google and my customers love the ability to get sneak peaks at their wedding photos. But sadly all good things must come to an end as this will be my last post on this Word Press blog. Although the blog will still be here, it will no longer be linked to from my website. The good news is I’ve got a newer more modern blog!!! The new blog is far more customizable and the images are much larger. I’m totally excited to announce the new RSVP Studios Blog and I’m sure you will feel as I do – it’s a better blog and a better experience. Check out the screen shot below and be sure to visit the new RSVP Studios Blog!

Houston Wedding Photography | John & Bianca

Last Saturday I photographed John and Bianca’s wedding here in Houston. I showed up at their home at, dare I say it, 8am and began photographing all the little details. Bianca looked amazing in her backless wedding dress and the two were a beautiful couple. But there’s a bit of a twist to this couple, Bianca’s name is really Athenasia and she goes by Annie, but her stage name is Bianca. Here’s the twist, with a name like Athenasia you would think she was from Greece or something, well in truth – she is. In fact they’re in Greece right now getting married again! How cool is that, and to top it off she’s from Athens. Get it? Athens/Athenasia? I don’t know what her name means, but I like it! Congratulations guys and have a great time it Greece!!

Houston Wedding Photography | Jason & Jessica

This weekend I had the honor of photographing Jason & Jessica’s wedding at The Orchard at Caney Creek. A beautiful venue located about an hour southeast of Houston. Often times venues bear names that can mislead you into thinking they’re something they’re not. Not The Orchard at Caney Creek. The country setting is surrounded by an amazing orchard of Oak Trees. It turned out to be the perfect day for the outdoor event and I had a great time photographing the newly weds. Click the image below to see the highlights slideshow.

An Enchanted Bridal Fair

Attention future brides, this Saturday we will be headed to the Enchanted Cypress Ballroom for a Bridal Fair. Although I won’t be able to be their personally, (I’ll be photographing a wedding at Lakewood Church) my beautiful wife Wendy will be there to represent RSVP Studios. She’ll have plenty of sample albums and prints to look at as well as be able to answer any questions or set consultation appointments. There will be other vendors as well and all this will be taking place under the amazing crystal chandeliers of the Ballroom, what better way for a future bride to spend a Saturday afternoon? For more info contact Andrea at 281.826.0505 or visit the Enchanted Cypress Ballroom online – www.enchantedcypress.com

Things I’m Diggin! | Vacations!

Is there anything like a much needed vacation? And how come you wait all year to take one and before you know it it’s over? I remember the glory days of when I was in my 20′s and my kids were in elementary school. They were so easy to please, all we had to do was pack em into the mini van and head for Disneyland or San Deigo for the weekend and see Shamoo. Remember the wax figurenes, or the toy handcuffs or mouse ear hats?

Fast forward to the here and now. Kids are grown and have their own money, or kinda have their own money but dads always good for a loan and dinner, and the last thing they want to do is hang out with Mom and Dad especially once their stomachs are full and dads wallet is empty. Case in point, last month we took a drive up to San Antonio and stayed at the River Walk. (If you’ve ever done this then you know what I’m talking about and if you haven’t you need to. It’s way cool.) Anyways, it’s me, my wife, my two daughters (last two at home anyways.) and their friend Chelsea. The first place on the agenda is Sea World. (which is totally different then the one in San Diego, but still cool) As we’re getting closer to our destination, we can see the outline of a roller coaster slithering along the horizion. We’re like miles aways and this thing looks like a giant Anaconda reflecting on the hood of our car. If you don’t know my girls or have any of your own yet, you’re in for a real treat once they hit their teenage years. When we lived in California we lived near Six Flags to which they had season passes and called their weekend home. Anyways, I could feel the heart rates in the back seat elevating as they contemplated the enormity of the coster in the distance, a ride my wife and I were determined not to be taking. Needless to say, and much to my surprise, my wife and I were the only ones that actually rode it. Go figure.

Okay, so back to what I’ve been trying to get to. The day were due to leave we’re walking along the River Walk poking in and out of the shops and attractions when the girls want a gelato. Next to the gelato place is one of those soulvenir shops that specializes in stone candles. I was totally blown away at how beautiful these things were. Amber in color rock that had been polished to perfection. I’m not one to spend a fortune on stuff like this but these things were totally cool. The way they work is by setting a small candle inside them and then they magnify that light, the whole rock glows and has that cool old world look unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. So I decided to drop a few bucks on a set of three of them. My wife thought I was nuts, especially when it cost 100 bucks, but I was really diging these things. I light em almost every night before I go to bed and the candles will burn themselves out within three or four hours. Definitely buying more on our next trip in October.
