As a wedding photographer one of the things I really try to do for each couple is to capture an image or series of images that transcends their wedding day. One that could hang in their living room and people would think it an art piece more than wedding photography. So starting this week I’m going to post my favorite image from each wedding in its own right. I’d love to hear your comments on each image, what you like, what you hate and how you think it could be better.

For my first image I’ve chosen one from Gabriella and Mathews Wedding at the Bell Tower on 34th. I choose this image first because it shows the power of pre-visualization. When I first came to Houston almost two years ago I had seen pictures of the Bell Tower in magazines. I was fascinated by the beauty and architecture of the place and when I saw this stairway I knew there was an image waiting to be created. Unfortunately the Bell Tower had been damaged during the hurricane and was later sold. I hoped that it would reopen and continue to be a wedding venue and one day I would have the opportunity to shoot the image below.

Thankfully it did just that. The new owners made many improvements and reopened the Bell Tower on 34th in all it’s glory. Angela and Roger did a fantastic job and the venue is amazing once again! I look forward to working there in the future and creating more images such as this as I explore the many possibilities that the Bell Tower has to offer.

Houston Wedding Photography | Natalie & Jherad

Friday I had the privillage of photographing Jherad & Natatlie’s wedding at Brisco Manor, a beautiful venue located between Katy and Rosenberg. Natalie was one of those “Oh my gosh your gorgous brides!”, who blonde hair and blue eyes were a direct gift from her mother and grand mother. Both of whom where beside themselves with joy as they watched the days events unfold under their watchful eyes. Jherad’s emotions overwhelmed him as she walked down they isle. Can’t say I’ve ever seen a groom have so many emotions in so little a time as with Jherad. Oh, and I’ve got to say that the wedding cake is a definite contender for cake of the year!

Houston Wedding Photographers | Jennifer & Blake

Jennifer and Blakes wedding was hosted at The Courtyard on St. James Place, which was amazing, and especially colorful with the floral arrangements Susie Miller – She’s out of the Houston Country Club. “The Heat” out of Dallas kept everybody dancing all night long and the bride and groom were sprinkled by rose pedals as they made their getaway.

Houston Wedding Photographers | Christin & Mike

This weekends wedding was that of Christin and Mike. The cool thing was we had plenty of time before the wedding to hit a few photo hot spots, and since the bride and groom weren’t oppossed to seeing each other before the ceremony we made the best use of that time we could. Houston Wedding Photographers | Ose & Liza Engagement Session

Last Monday I had a blast with Ose (pronounced Aussie) and Liza. I’ll be doing their wedding in November up in their home town of Austin, which also served as the backdrop for their engagement session.
