The day started out around 8am when I arrived at the Hilton hotel in the Galleria area of Houston. We started that early because the bride and groom had agreed to see each other before the ceremony for some nice alone pictures in some of the scenic areas around the Galleria. Jackie looked stunning and her dress was full of surprises. For the first pictures I had no idea that she could totally change to look of it later. Notice that in the first images it’s a classic sleeveless, but then by the fountain it’s there’s no neck and a ribbon is added which totally changes the look of the dress. I’ve never seen that in a dress before – Jackie you are very creative!
Jose and Jackie had done an engagement session months earlier and they were by now expert models. We had a great time in the early hours but I have to admit my biggest surprise came at the reception once the dancing started. This couple can really cut a rug and they made it look so effortless as they spun around the dance floor. They were the picture of happiness and I wish them nothing but the best. Here are a few shots from the morning session and the reception. The rest of the images will be available later in the week so check back for the link.
Congratulations Jackie and Jose!
The photo of the week was really a combination of several factors. Andrea Lynn of the Enchanted Cypress Ballroom happened to mention to me that they were getting ready to update their ad in The Knot magazine and in Weddings in Houston magazine. I had recently done a bridal session there and they were wanting to use one of the images for the full page ads. While the image they wanted to use was very good, we decided that we really needed a bride and groom for the shot and we wanted a bride that had a full length ballroom gown. I knew just the couple, Joseph and Elizabeth, I had photographed their wedding about a month before and Elizabeths gown totally fit the bill. I called and explained what we were wanting to do and she and Joseph were happy to help us out.
Given the name of the venue, The Enchanted Cypress Ballroom, I really wanted to create a picture that captured the essence of enchantment. The first thing that came to mind were Disney princesses and their prince charmings. After all, what bride couldn’t relate to a fairytale wedding to her prince charming? The finishing touch would be Tinker Bell spreading her magical Pixie dust all around the couple as they watched in wonder. A special thanks to Al’s Formal Wear for the use of the tuxedo and to Joseph and Elizabeth for being such great models.

This is the biggest post in my history, but this was a killer event and there were so many photo ops that it was hard to control myself. The event was hosted at the historic Hotel Galvez in Galveston, while the ceremony was at Grace Episcopal Church, also in Galveston. Special thanks to Michael and Debbie Hickey for both their kindness and hospitality, you through an amazing wedding and my hats off to you. The event was coordinated by Lynn Mclean of Larry’s Florist and the catering manager at the Galvez was Angie. Music at the reception was The Grooves (www.thegrooves.net) and they were rockin! A huge thank you to Krista Kaulfus for assisting me as a second shooter, I couldn’t have done it without you, well probably could have but it’s so much more fun when your around. Finally thank you Hickey family for selecting me as your wedding photographer.
Congratulations Amy & David!

I had the honor of photographing Megan Preston this afternoon at the Enchanted Cypress Ballroom. I was pleasently suprised by the beauty of this venue, the pictures I’d seen on the internet did not do it justice. Megan looked fabulous and Andrea Lynn was more then hospitable as we moved chairs, flowers, and lamps around to create this portfolio of stunning images. I can’t wait for the wedding!

We had done an esession, created a cool guest book and great thank you cards, finally Liliana and Edgar’s wedding day had arrived. We started the day at Lilly’s appartement with makeup and hair, then it was off to St. Mary’s Church in League City for a beautiful ceremony. I could think of no better place to finish the day off then at the Hotel Galvez for an absolutely amazing reception. My hat’s off to the following vendors for a top-notch job: Flowers by Hava Tran of Dream bouquet; The spicy Latino music by “Latin Fire”, contact yelba@me.com; The tasty cake by Jenny’s Bakery; and last but certainly not least Kathleen Messina of Messina Events & all the staff of the Hotel Galvez! Contact Jennifer Norman – Catering Manager.
Congratulations Edgar & Lilly!

It was one of the more emotional wedding I’ve been to, seemed as though everybody ended up crying tears of joy at one point or another. Ruben’s brother had a really tough time getting through the best man speach – and to be honest I have to admit that my own lens began to fog up. The power of love spoken is an amazing thing. Ruben and Jessica thank you for allowing me to be a part of you’re special day!
Congratulations Ruben & Jessica!

It was the first time that I’ve photographed at Heather’s Glen in Conroe. An absolutely beautiful venue for a daytime, early spring wedding. The Bride looked beautiful as did all the bridesmaids, and the guys were dressed to the nines. I hope I get the opportunity to shoot there again soon. Congrats Ludy and Jeremy and have a great time in Greece!
Saturday was the wedding of Kathrine and Walter at the Sugar Creek Country Club in Sugarland TX. I really hit it off with Kathrine and Walter during their e-session. We had a lot more in common then I realized and it was a privilege to share in their big day. As I write this they are at one of my favorite places in the world – the Grand Canyon!
Congratulations Walter & Kathrine!
